Let Your AI Agent Run UGC Campaigns With Scouty

Scouty has an MCP server and a REST API, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or your own agent can work inside your Scouty workspace. Here is what you can hand to an agent, what stays with a person, one worked request, and the setup steps from the docs.

Scouty's MCP server lives at one address, `https://api.tryscouty.com/mcp`, and the same work is exposed as a REST API at `https://api.tryscouty.com/v1`. That means an AI agent can run UGC campaigns in Scouty today: it can draft a campaign, browse and invite creators, accept applicants, start a creator search and track every creator through onboarding. What it cannot do is publish a campaign without the team's review, spend money, or message a creator in its own words, and both halves of that are by design.

Scouty is an AI agent that runs UGC and creator campaigns: it finds creators, signs them, onboards them and keeps them posting, so a team can grow its creator program without adding a coordinator every time. The agent route lets your own assistant drive that work from wherever you already ask it questions.

If you already use Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or a homegrown agent for most of your work and want it to run creator campaigns too, this post is for you. Below is what the agent route covers, what stays with a person, one worked request, and how to connect it, all taken from the Scouty docs.

The short answer

TaskYour agent can do itWhat it needs
List campaigns and see who has signedYesRead access (on by default)
Draft a new campaign or edit oneYes`campaigns:write`
Put a campaign liveIt can ask; the team reviews and publishes`campaigns:write`
Invite Creators Club creatorsYes, up to 10 per call`creators:manage`
Start a search for new creators on TikTok and InstagramYes, on a live campaign`sourcing:run`
Accept or decline applicantsYes`creators:manage`
Track onboarding and approve warm-up stepsYes`campaigns:read`, `creators:manage`
Message a creator directlyNoScouty writes every message
Change billing or see pricesNoNever available to an agent

Two caveats before you screenshot that table.

First, every action permission starts unticked. When you connect an app, reading is on and acting is off. You choose which of the action scopes to grant, and how long the access lasts: 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or indefinitely.

Second, the agent works through Scouty, not around it. Each write does exactly what the matching dashboard button does, with the same rules. An edit to a live campaign waits for the team's review, and a creator only ever hears from Scouty.

What you can hand to an agent

The docs list every tool by name. Grouped by the job it does, the agent route covers five pieces of campaign work.

1. Campaign setup

`scouty_create_campaign` makes a draft, and a draft reaches nobody. `scouty_update_campaign` changes the title, overview, pay line, deliverables, requirements, markets, targeting or application deadline. `scouty_get_campaign` reports what is still missing before the campaign can go live, so the agent can fill gaps instead of guessing. It can also generate a contract from Scouty's template or upload your own on a draft or paused campaign.

2. Finding creators

Two routes. `scouty_browse_club` lists Creators Club members who fit one live campaign, as anonymous cards with niches, platforms, reach and engagement bands, and fit. `scouty_invite_creators` invites up to 10 of them per call, and Scouty messages each one once. For reach beyond the Club, `scouty_start_search` has Scouty look for creators on TikTok and Instagram who fit the campaign and email the ones with a usable address a link to apply. An optional one-line prompt steers who it looks for.

3. Applicant decisions

`scouty_list_applicants` returns everyone on a campaign, grouped the way the Applicants window shows them. `scouty_decide_applicant` accepts or declines one, and Scouty messages the creator either way. Accepting starts them on the campaign's activation steps, or emails them the contract when there is one to sign.

4. Onboarding and warm-up

`scouty_get_activation` shows each creator's step. `scouty_get_warmup_board` counts how many accepted creators sit at each warm-up stage and how many need attention. `scouty_decide_warmup_step` approves or rejects the step a creator is on, and Scouty texts them the next step or your note. The agent can also activate, offboard and restore creators.

5. Reporting

Reads cover campaigns, applicants, searches with their funnel counts (profiles scanned, creators who fit, invites sent and answered), and plan usage as percentages and counts. `scouty_list_actions` shows what this one token has done, so an agent can check whether a change already went through before retrying.

An agent connected to Scouty decides what to ask for. Scouty still does the talking to creators, and a person still decides what goes live.

What stays with a person

Some decisions are not on the agent route at all, and the docs say so plainly:

  • Budget and billing. An agent never sees a price, an invoice or a billing link, and cannot start, change or cancel a plan.
  • Going live. It can request publishing; the team reviews and publishes every campaign.
  • Brand voice in creator messages. It cannot message a creator directly or write the words Scouty sends them. Campaign text it writes is refused if it carries an outside link, a phone number or email address, or wording addressed to an assistant.
  • Final creator picks. An accept or decline cannot be undone, so the docs tell agents to ask the person first unless they were already told to act.
  • Signing. An agent cannot sign anything.

It also cannot look up a creator by name, handle or contact, or open a profile before that creator is on one of your campaigns. There is no open creator directory, by design.

How to connect your agent to Scouty

A workable approach, in order:

  1. Copy the address. Every app uses `https://api.tryscouty.com/mcp`.
  2. Add it as a connector. In Claude it is Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. ChatGPT needs Developer mode turned on first. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and other developer tools have their own setup steps in the docs.
  3. Sign in and choose. Pick your workspace, tick the permissions, choose how long access lasts, and press Allow.
  4. Start with a read. "Using Scouty, list my campaigns and tell me which ones are live."
  5. Then let it prepare work for approval. "Draft a new campaign for our spring launch. Show it to me before you create it."

An app that cannot open a sign-in page takes a token instead, created on the Agents page in Settings. Anything you connect shows up there, its activity is listed, and Revoke stops it at once.

A concrete example. Say you ask: "On the spring launch campaign, find 60 fitting Creators Club creators in fitness and invite them." The documented limits shape what happens:

  • Invites go out 10 per call, so 60 creators is 6 calls.
  • A campaign takes 30 invites per hour, so the agent sends 30 now and the other 30 the following hour.
  • Invites also count against your plan's invites for the period, which `scouty_list_invites` reports as `invitesLeft`.
  • Total: 6 calls over about 2 hours, with the agent checking `invitesLeft` first and reporting each invite's status (`invited`, `applied`, `declined`) as it changes.

The person's part in that request is one sentence and one later decision: which applicants to accept.

AI Agent UGC Campaign FAQ

Can an AI agent run a UGC campaign?

Yes, through Scouty's MCP server or REST API an agent can draft campaigns, invite and accept creators, start searches and track onboarding. Publishing, billing and creator messages stay with your team and Scouty.

Does Scouty have an API?

Yes. Scouty has a REST API at `https://api.tryscouty.com/v1` with an OpenAPI file, and an MCP server at `https://api.tryscouty.com/mcp`.

Which AI assistants work with Scouty?

The docs give setup steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Le Chat, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI and opencode. Any client that supports a remote MCP server or plain HTTP requests can connect too.

Can the agent spend money or change my plan?

No. An agent never sees prices or billing links and cannot start, change or cancel a plan.

Can I give an agent read-only access?

Yes. Leave the action permissions unticked when you connect, and the agent can read your campaigns and creators and nothing else.

How do I turn off an agent's access?

Open the Agents page in Settings and press Revoke next to the app. Access stops immediately.

How Scouty fits

Scouty takes the creator-side work off your team: it finds creators from its vetted Creators Club and through outreach on TikTok and Instagram, handles the contract step, walks each creator through the campaign steps your manager sets, follows up on anything unfinished, and brings you in only when a decision needs a person. The agent route puts that same workspace in reach of the assistant you already use, with the permissions you choose. Influee also advertises its own MCP agent, built around running its marketplace; the side-by-side is on Scouty vs Influee.

Scouty is sold as plans at one flat monthly price per workspace, with a free trial. Creator management (the posting schedule and reminders) is its own subscription, bought per campaign. Creators keep 100% of the rate the brand sets, brands pay creators directly, and Scouty takes no commission. Current plans are on the pricing page.

Try Scouty at tryscouty.com, read the full tool reference in the Scouty docs, or see whether Scouty is worth it for your team. The brand-side walkthrough is what Scouty is and how creator sourcing works, and the homepage for Scouty has the header button that copies a ready-made setup prompt for your agent.
