Can I hire UGC creators near me?
Yes. Several UGC platforms let you choose creators by country, and JoinBrands lists them by United States state and city. For most UGC you do not need a local creator, because the product is shipped and the video is filmed at home. Location matters for stores, events, in-person services and language.

When location really matters
- A physical place
- A shop, a restaurant, a gym or a salon needs someone who can walk in and film there.
- An in-person service
- Anything the creator has to experience on site, from a class to a clinic visit.
- Language and accent
- An ad for one market should sound like that market. This is about country and language more than distance.
- Shipping and customs
- Sending product across a border adds days and cost, so the creator's country matters even when their city does not.
- Regulated products
- Some products can only be shipped or promoted in certain places.
When it does not
A product that ships in a box, an app, or anything filmed in a kitchen, a bathroom or a car does not need a creator in your city. The viewer cannot tell where the video was made, and limiting yourself to people nearby shrinks the pool for no gain.
For those briefs, filter by country and language, then choose on the content. That is the same advice whether you search by hand or use a platform.

How to brief when you do need someone local
- Name the place. City and neighborhood, and how far a creator may travel.
- Say what is filmed on site. The storefront, the product on the shelf, the service itself. Be specific about what must appear.
- Set the visit. Dates, opening hours and who the creator asks for.
- Cover the cost. Say whether the product or service is provided, and whether travel is paid.
- Get permission. Confirm that filming is allowed on the premises and that other customers will not be shown without consent.
Asking Scouty for a location
You can ask Scouty for creators in a specific location: location is one of the criteria a brand can set in its brief. Scouty then matches creators from its Creators Club and searches TikTok and Instagram for creators who fit, and brings you the ones to approve.
A narrow location makes any search slower, on any platform, because fewer creators qualify. If a city is a preference and not a requirement, say so in the brief and you will see more people.
